Job Title: Executive Assistant
Employer: Hart County Chamber of Commerce
Location: Hartwell, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 pm - 4:30 pm (35 hours per week, 1 hour unpaid lunch) with occasional paid evening or weekend events.

About the Position:
The Hart County Chamber of Commerce is seeking an energetic and community-minded Executive Assistant to support our daily operations and events. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Hart County and eager to engage with local businesses and residents.

Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Serving as the communications hub of the Chamber by providing front desk support with a strong emphasis on member and community engagement, ensuring all inquiries are answered in a professional and welcoming manner.

  • Creating and distributing compelling communications including press releases, newsletters, brochures, and digital content that highlight Chamber initiatives, programs, and member successes.

  • Designing professional and engaging promotional materials in Canva (or similar platforms), and managing the Chamber’s digital presence across social media channels, website, and event calendars.

  • Strengthening member relations through proactive outreach, onboarding communications, check-ins, testimonials, and annual billing follow-ups, ensuring members feel consistently valued and informed.

  • Promoting tourism through storytelling — maintaining up-to-date visitor resources, producing engaging tourism marketing campaigns, and cultivating relationships with regional tourism partners.

  • Supporting advocacy and visibility efforts by drafting clear, consistent messaging that enhances the Chamber’s voice as a leader for business and community growth.


Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, (or similar software) for design and content creation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
  • Familiarity with press release writing, media relations, and social media management.
  • Strong knowledge of Hart County, its businesses, and attractions.
  • Experience in event promotion, public relations, marketing, or communications.
  • Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience in accounts receivable and/or QuickBooks (preferred).
