Cars & Guitars Festival Brings Out the Best in Hart County
The Cars & Guitars Festival car show finally had its day on Saturday, September 5th, and the sweltering heat definitely kept some folks away. The show was originally scheduled for Memorial Day weekend back in May, but rain forced a reschedule. As it turns out, most car owners will take a heat wave over a rainy day any time, and heat is exactly what they got. What makes a community a community? Who tells its stories, and how do those stories get passed down? A University of Georgia research team is spending time in our community this year exploring those very questions, through a partnership with Archway Partnership, and they want to hear directly from the people who live here. The project will include oral history interviews, storytelling, community workshops, and performances, creating opportunities for local residents to share their experiences and help
